Apple has launched the most budget-friendly model of the iPhone 16 series for users.
The company unveiled the iPhone 16e on February 19, eliminating the home button. Thus, all Apple devices are now home button-free.
This new low-cost iPhone will take the place of the 2022 iPhone SE.
The iPhone SE (2022) was the last model to feature a Touch ID button (home button). The iPhone 16 series has succeeded in, replacing the SS series.
This new phone’s design resembles that of the iPhone 14, but its features closely resemble those of the iPhone 16.
The device houses the same A18 chip as the iPhone 16 and boasts a 6.1-inch OLED display, which is virtually identical to the iPhone 16’s.
The phone’s 48-megapixel rear camera is a step behind the iPhone 16.
However, this camera also provides 2x zoom, or at least that’s what Apple asserts.
Apple claims this is the best iPhone ever in terms of battery life, lasting six hours longer on a single charge than the iPhone 11.
Likewise, its battery endures 12 hours longer than the 2016 iPhone SE.
Users can unlock the phone using Face ID, while USB-C support is included for charging.
Equipped with iOS 18, this phone incorporates Apple Intelligence Model support, granting users access to AI features. There’s also an action button on the side, though it cannot be used for camera control.
Consequently, it is also Apple’s most affordable iPhone to date.
This model is the first Apple iPhone to utilize a company-developed modem that provides satellite connectivity.
This means it can leverage features like emergency SOS, roadside assistance, text messaging, and satellite navigation to help locate a lost phone.
This new iPhone will be available in various countries starting February 28 in white and black colors.
It will begin at $599, making it Apple’s most affordable iPhone currently available, as the iPhone S3 is being phased out by the company.
