
KARACHI: Pakistan’s first locally developed satellite has been launched into space.
Chinese media has confirmed the launch of Pakistan’s first locally developed satellite into space.
According to Chinese media, the satellite was sent into space from China’s Jichuan Satellite Launch Center.

According to a Suparco spokesperson, Pakistan’s local satellite EO-1 is an important step in space development designed to aid in disaster response, agriculture, and urban planning.
Spokesman Suparco said that the satellite will also be used to help food security and water management and the satellite will increase the monitoring of natural resources across the country.
