
The Honda Civic Hybrid has been named the ‘2025 North American Car of the Year’ (NACOTY)! Yes, you read that right. This hybrid sedan clinched the prestigious title with an impressive tally of 205 votes on January 10, 2025, during the media day at the Detroit Auto Show, marking yet another achievement for Honda’s legendary model.
This isn’t the Civic’s first time in the spotlight. This latest accolade, marks the iconic nameplate’s fourth win at the NACTOY Awards, a feat unmatched by any other vehicle since the awards were first introduced. The Civic previously won in 2022, 2016, and 2006.
Furthermore, this accolade is the second NACOTY award for the 11th-generation Civic, making it Honda’s seventh overall. The Civic continues to set records, having received this honor more than any other car in the awards’ 30+ year history.
In a competitive field, the Civic Hybrid outperformed contenders like the Kia K4 and Toyota Camry, emerging as North America’s champion.
In a market primarily dominated by crossovers and MPVs, the Civic e: HEV has successfully grabbed attention, reminding car enthusiasts of the timeless appeal of sedans.
