A newly discovered white dwarf star, approximately the size of the Moon, is the smallest known star.

Remarkably, this dwarf star has a mass that is 1.3 times greater than that of the sun.

A white dwarf is the remnant left behind by a massive star as it collapses.

During this process, these massive stars lose a significant amount of their size. The newly discovered dwarf star has a radius of only 2,100 kilometers (1,305 miles), which is similar to the radius of the Moon at approximately 1,700 kilometers.

Most white dwarf stars are close to the size of Earth, with a radius of about 6,300 kilometers (3,900 miles).

But surprisingly, this dwarf star is 1.3 times the mass (weight) of the Sun, making it one of the most massive white dwarfs.

You may wonder how the smallest white dwarf star can be heavier than our sun, but the truth is that we usually consider larger objects to be heavier, but as white dwarf stars get smaller, they weigh more.
