Almost everyone uses smartphones now, but one problem is often encountered: running out of battery.
Yes, smartphones must be charged at least once a day, but imagine a phone that doesn’t need a charger and instead charges in your hands while you’re on the go.
Such a phone has been developed and it will be possible thanks to solar power.
At the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, a Chinese company presented a smartphone with solar panels.
This phone has a solar panel installed on the back so that it can be charged on the go with sunlight.
According to the company, this is currently a concept model, meaning it is not available to the general public, but it can still be used.
The company has called it Solar Energy Reversing Technology and has used perovskite solar cells for this.
These cells are thinner and their manufacturing cost is also lower than that of silicon solar cells.
The solar cells are equipped with a system called Maximum Power Point Tracking, which controls the voltage so that the phone does not overheat in sunlight.
A solar-powered case was also developed with the phone to make the charging process twice as fast.
According to the company, the case can be charged in sunlight at any time of the day and can also charge the phone when the battery power is low while walking outside at night.
Similarly, this case will also be helpful in the event of a power outage.
