Google introduces a new version of the Android operating system every year.
In June 2025, the new operating system, named Android 16, will be unveiled.
This year, Google held an event called Android Show for the first time before its annual developer conference, where the features of Android 16 were explained.
A lot will be available to users in this new Google operating system.
New design
Google is further enhancing Material 3 Expressive Design. The company is adding natural animations to every part of the user interface this year.
The experience of phone scrolling, the sensation of haptic feedback, and the use of everyday features will feel renewed and invigorating.
Additionally, there will be changes to the updated dynamic color themes and typography. Google is also introducing a new Live Updates feature to facilitate real-time tracking of notifications.
Privacy and security features
Three new excellent security features for Android phones are also part of the new operating system.
For example, an AI scam detection feature based on artificial intelligence (AI) technology will be introduced in this new operating system to make blocking suspicious messages on Google Messages smarter and more effective.
There is a feature called Find Hub, which serves as a dashboard where you can track your phone or check if your children have arrived home safely. The service will include third-party Bluetooth tags, and satellite connectivity support will also be available by the end of 2025.
Thus, if there is no mobile network in a location, it will be possible to locate devices through Find Hub.
Advanced Protection Mode is also being improved in Android 16. Furthermore, enhanced security will protect against malware.
